I know I promised no more old stuff, but this is 3d and is something I textured at work just a few years back....I thought it would work nicely for this topic...so I'm postin it anyway! I know, I can already hear it from you Pepe!

something new!
my littlest brother called me on something last night. he asked, "how does posting 10 year old stuff help you find a new style?" Truth is, it doesn't. I was just trying to give the 2 people who look at my blog something else to look at. So that's it, no more old junk will be posted here! Duane, here is something new I did yesterday. It was done completely on the computer in painter. There ya go...go take care of your houses!

oil paints.
Now that I can move around in my studio again, I got the urge to paint something. I mean with real paints and brushes. It's been years. I had a little canvas so I thought I'd paint my daughter. Wow, without the undo, it's a lot harder to paint! Here is my progress, this is about 3-4 hours into it, basically an underpainting, but man I'm having fun. I'm not too happy with it yet, but I'm trying to bring it around. I'll try to finish it up and post it when I'm "done". I had to open most of my oil tubes with pliers.
Here are some little ink drawings I did years ago for a childrens book that basically turned out like a little coloring book. Just more stuff to look at if you want.

looking WAY back
in all my cleaning this past week I looked through a lot of old stuff. I even found some college work! One of my favoite classes in school was a human head painting class from life. We got to take this class as seniors. I remember it being challanging and often frustrating. I remember thinking that I was doing fine at the time, but looking back at the work I did...let's just say I learned a lot. Here are three paintings from that class...these must have been three of the better ones, since I still have them....yikes. I think the class was about 3 hours long...so these sketches were painted in about 2 1/2 hours...I guess.

Studio
If you like the place where you work, you'll probably enjoy working a little more. That has been my thinking the last couple weeks as I've tried to clean up my home studio. I'm not kidding when I say it's been a LONG time since I've been able to walk freely around in there...or see the top of a desk. It's been out of control for years! So last week I finially got serious...here are my results. I know some of you have much nicer studios, my "studio" is just a room in the basement, but I've been lucky to hang on to that much space in my house! Hopefully I'll be able to start making it into something more soon.
